A MAN has been thanked for his heroic actions after jumping into action to play a vital role in saving lorry drivers life in M6 crash. The crash, which happened on Saturday (January 23), saw a car and tanker lorry collide near junction 27. Antony Scott swerved to avoid the crash and his first thought was to check on the driver of the car and the lorry. But after getting no response from the lorry driver, the 31-year-old pulled away the glass of the cab and did his best to keep the injured driver talking and awake. “It’s all a bit of a blur,” Mr Scott said. “I didn’t really know what I was doing, I just thought I needed to keep him talking and not let him fall asleep.”

Carlisle man praised for helping lorry driver in M6 collision
A Carlisle man has been praised by police for his quick thinking after a collision on the M6 at the weekend.
Antony Scott, of Coledale Meadows, is a driver for Amazon and was on his way to its depot in Manchester.
He was forced to swerve his car to avoid the incident, which involved a HGV and four vehicles on Saturday at Junction 27, near Wigan at about noon.
Antony, 31, leapt out of his van to see if he could help the people involved in the collision.
He climbed into the lorry’s cab to see what state the driver was in.
