Scam! CHED Commissioner warns public vs individuals using his name to solicit favors

Published May 28, 2021, 3:14 PM An official of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on Friday, May 28, warned the public against persons who are using his name in a scam and asked stakeholders first to “verify first” with the agency before dealing with such individuals. Adamat informed and warned the public about “certain individuals who are victimizing some SUCs” using the name of “Commissioner Ronald Adamat” in a scam to solicit favors. In particular, Adamat warned the state universities and colleges (SUCs) as well private higher education institutions (PHEIs) against these individuals who are soliciting favors “ranging from cellphone prepaid load worth P5,000 up to P10,000, and even telling these SUCs that he is visiting them and requesting for hotel accommodations.”

San Bernardino County is now slated to move into the less-restrictive red tier of Coronavirus risk levels on Sunday, March 14, after California officials announced that the state reached its threshold of 2 million vaccines administered to people in vulnerable, low-income ZIP codes. The move means more businesses, including movie theaters and gyms, will be allowed to reopen at reduced capacity. Indoor dining will also be allowed to resume.
