Call center to help offline Montgomery County residents register for coronavirus vaccine

NORRISTOWN — Acknowledging that scheduling a COVID-19 vaccine appointment is challenging for those who don’t have internet access, Montgomery County health officials plan to launch a phone call center to assist those who don’t have a computer in registering for a shot. “Early next week, we will open a call center for Montgomery County residents to answer questions about vaccinations. Shortly after that, we will add the ability to pre-register for vaccination by phone for those that do not have internet access or an email,” county Commissioners’ Chairwoman Dr. Valerie Arkoosh revealed at a news briefing this week. “We’re very pleased to be able to offer this to anyone who doesn’t have either internet access or a working email address,” Arkoosh said.

Grants awarded to Montgomery County restaurants struggling during pandemic

NORRISTOWN — Montgomery County officials have approved nearly $2 million in grants for county restaurants and food service businesses facing struggles during the coronavirus pandemic. County Commissioner Kenneth E. Lawrence Jr. announced on Wednesday that 194 grants, totaling $1.94 million, have been approved as part of the first round of the 2021 Montco Strong Restaurant Grant Program, which is jointly administered by the Montgomery County Commerce Department and The Redevelopment Authority of Montgomery County. “Grants of $10,000 are being awarded to each qualifying business.
