Man thought he was covered to drive partner’s car A 23-YEAR-OLD man who mistakenly thought he was insured to drive the car he was in when stopped by police has been given a fine and penalty points. Curtis Timlin, with an address of Rosscolban Meadows, Kesh, was convicted of having no insurance and failing to provide his driving licence in relation to an incident on January 30. At around 5.10pm, police observed a Peugeot on the Cornagrade Road, Enniskillen being driven by the defendant. Checks showed there was no insurance in place. When he was pulled over, Timlin told officers he had an insurance policy which covered him through a third-party extension.

April 7, 2021 Ph.D. graduate student Garry Smith Proteins are known as the building blocks of life, and for Ph.D. graduate student Garry Smith, the study of proteins is a foundation for the beginning of a career. Smith has recently won a graduate fellowship from the American Heart Association to continue his research on filament-like proteins in heart muscle cells that are critical to the heart’s function. The fellowship, which includes two years of financial support, provides mentored research training for promising graduate students to encourage careers in cardiovascular and stroke research. Originally from Shelton, Washington, Smith came to WSU to study engineering after receiving support through a Regents Scholarship. As the first in his family to pursue a college education, adjusting to the culture of college was challenging, but throughout his undergraduate years, he thrived in his classes, eventually settling on bioengineering as his major.
