A BRIDPORT musician has been given a community order for possessing hundreds of indecent images of children. Garry Martin Smith, aged 66, was in possession of 288 indecent images of children between April 2016 and January 2020. Smith, of Mount Pleasant, Bridport, admitted offences at a previous court appearance and has now been sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court. Prosecuting, Dominik Morton, told the court that some of the children featured in Smith’s collection of indecent images were as young as seven years old. Smith admitted to possession of five counts of category A indecent images of children – two of which were videos – eight counts of category B images, and 275 counts of category C images.
Prisma Health presented its annual report to the organization that oversees the system s lease and a group of Greenville lawmakers Friday afternoon.
During the annual review of the system by Greenville Health Authority the organization left behind when Prisma Health, formerly the Greenville Health System, transitioned into a private nonprofit organization a number of topics were brought up including access to care in the north Greenville area.
Prisma reported a quantifiable community benefit of over $527 million an increase of over $62 million from the previous year and touted its pandemic response, which includes providing personal protective equipment and ventilators to nearly 100 healthcare entities, providing 15% of testing in the state, treating a third of the state s hospitalized COVID-19 patients and completing over 200,000 vaccinations to date.

A historic village pub which has stood empty for a decade is set to be restored to its former glory - by one of Kent s most prestigious private schools.
The Swan Inn in Sturry High Street, near Canterbury, called last orders for the final time in 2011 and has been vacant ever since.

But The Junior King s School wants to transform it into the premier licensed premises in the village - by relaunching it as a pub and bed-and-breakfast.

It would require candidates seeking the nomination of a party that nominates by convention to pay a filing fee during March of an election year. It has 21 sponsors, all Republicans: Russell Fry, Chip Huggins, Sylleste Davis, William Newton, Garry Smith, Adam Morgan, James Burns, Shannon Erickson, Linda Bennett, Anne Thayer, Bill Taylor, Bruce Bryant, Jason Elliott, Mark Willis, Raye Felder, Sandy McGarry, V. Stephen Moss, Patrick Haddon, Steven Long, Thomas Pope, and Cal Forrest.
If enacted, the bill would be unconstitutional for two different reasons. The first is that the Fourth Circuit ruled in Dixon v Maryland State Board of Elections, 878 F 2d 776 (1989) that states can’t require filing fees, unless the purpose of the filing fee is to keep a ballot uncrowded. In the Dixon case, the court struck down a $290 fee to file as a declared write-in candidate. The rationale was that a wri
