ADAMS - Every student in this year s graduating class at Adams-Friendship High School class has been accepted to Mid-State Technical College for the summer and fall 2021 semesters.
The partnership between the Adams-Friendship School District and Mid-State is the first of its kind in the area. The effort advances 60 Forward, a new initiative in the state that aims to move Wisconsin toward a postsecondary education attainment rate of 60% by 2027. As older populations in Wisconsin begin to retire and high school graduation rates drop, the state is facing an urgent need for talent, according to the initiative s website.
This year s graduating class in Adams-Friendship has about 100 students. Many would be first-generation college graduates, said Kevin Moore, principal of the high school. About a third of the class has already decided on their next steps, and about 10 of those students are planning to attend Mid-State, he said.
