Janet Throgmorton has been the principal of the grammar school for the past 11 years. She’s known for wearing many hats in the best of times, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, she took her efforts a step further!
With staff shortages coming up left and right, any given day will find Janet helping out in several different areas of the school. Perhaps she’s serving up hot lunches in the cafeteria or emptying trash barrels at the end of the day; anything to keep their doors open and their students safe!

A Kentucky school principal has added to her resumé amid staff shortages owing to the pandemic. She has taken on the role of a busdriver to ensure her students get home from school safely.
Janet Throgmorton of Fancy Farm Elementary in Graves County, western Kentucky, is acting principal to 184 preschool through sixth-grade students. A principal is stepping up for her students by taking on the role of school bus driver during the pandemic.
Janet Throgmorton is principal of Fancy Farm Elementary in western Kentucky, where there s 184 preschool through sixth-grade students.
Since there s been a shortage of bus drivers, Throgmorton has worn multiple hats for Graves County School District including taking kids home after school.
