Man pulled out pistol after making couple uncomfortable with comments

1/1 A YOUNG couple waiting for a train on Colne station were confronted by a man who produced an air pistol from his rucksack. Blackburn magistrates heard the couple had expected Peter Templar to take flowers out of his bag after they had seen him with some blooms and he made comments to them about young love. Templar, 48, of Cragg Street, Colne, pleaded guilty to possessing an air weapon in a public place. He was made subject to a community order for 24 months with a mental health treatment requirement and 15 days rehabilitation activity requirement. He was fined £10 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £95 victim surcharge.

Ex-Lake County official pleads not guilty to Wisconsin drug dealing charge

Former Lake County Recorder Michael B. Brown pleaded not guilty to a felony drug dealing charge Wednesday in a northern Wisconsin courtroom. The plea came moments after Forest County Judge Leon Stenz found Wisconsin Assistant District Attorney Alexander Seifert established probable cause to believe Brown committed possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Stenz did not immediately set a trial date on the charge, which carries a possible sentence of up to 3 1/2 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The brief preliminary hearing, held via videoconferencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, largely featured Sgt. Adam Boney of the Forest County Sheriff s Department speaking about the drugs and drug paraphernalia he allegedly found in Brown s car after pulling Brown over at 12:20 a.m. March 15 in the town of Wabeno, Wisconsin, for driving with only one headlight.

Man punched partner holding their baby during Christmas Day row

Blackburn magistrates heard Andrew Phillip Roche punched his partner, knocking her to the floor. The prosecution said the victim was holding the child but Daniel Frazer, defending, said his client was adamant he had hold of the child when he struck his partner. Roche, 28, of Wood Street, Brierfield, pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm. He was made subject to a community order for 24 months with 20 days rehabilitation activity requirement and a condition he completes the Building Better Relationships programme. He was also made subject to a curfew for eight weeks between 7pm and 5am and ordered to pay £300 compensation, £85 costs and £95 victim surcharge. He was made subject to a restraining order which prohibits him having any contact with the victim for two years.
