KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd has publicly reprimanded Asia Media Group Bhd (AMEDIA) and four of its former directors for breaches of the Main Market Listing Requirements (Main LR) and imposed fines totalling RM78,400 on these ex-directors.
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 11): Based on corporate announcements and news flow today, companies that may be in focus tomorrow are as follows: HLT Global Bhd, Advancecon Holdings Bhd, Public Bank Bhd and Asia Media Group Bhd.
HLT Global Bhd has proposed to acquire the remaining 45% stake in its 55%-owned rubber glove subsidiary for RM90 million. The group said plans to acquire the stake in HL Rubber Industries Sdn Bhd (HLRI) via the issuance of 90 million new HLT shares at RM1 per share. The vendors of the stake are Suntel International Co Ltd, Hup Lek Engineering & Trading Sdn Bhd, Teng Kok Fah and Lau Siong Hut. HLT said it decided to raise its stake in HLRI, given the favourable prospects of the rubber glove industry.
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): STYL Associates PLT has resigned as the auditor of G Capital Bhd, effective today.
This is the latest company listed on Bursa Malaysia that has announced the resignation of its auditor this month.
In a filing with the bourse, loss-making G Capital said it received a notice in writing for the auditor s voluntary resignation, with the latter citing the unavailability of resources to manage the engagement. Save for the above, the board is not aware of any matters that need to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company. The company has identified Messrs UHY (AF 1411) as the replacement auditors. However, the appointment can only be finalised upon receiving the letter of consent to act as auditors of the company, said the group.
