Two Injured, Another Missing After Bear Attack In Ganderbal

SRINAGAR: A wild bear attacked and injured two persons while another is missing in Dumail area of Naranag in Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district on Saturday. An official told that the trio had gone to Naranag for fishing when the wild bear attacked and injured them.

TAD acquires 315-kanal land adjacent to Harappa

National April 29, 2021 LAHORE: Punjab Tourism and Archaeology Department (TAD) has successfully fulfilled international demand to secure Harappa, declared world heritage by the Unesco, by acquiring 315 kanals of land adjacent to remnants of one of world s premium developed civilisation at Harappa, located at district Sahiwal. The Unesco had demanded construction of walls and grill around Harappa. The TAD spent Rs190 million on purchasing nearby lands. Under well adopted policy devised by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the TAD is working hard for preservation of heritage sites like Harappa. According to the Adviser to CM on Tourism and Archaeology Asif Mehmood, Communication and Works (C&W) Department is finalising, finishing the auditorium building, which would be used for multiple purposes.

Ram Pyari Museum inaugurated in Gujrat National LAHORE: In a simple but impressive ceremony Ram Pyari Museum was inaugurated in Gujrat on Monday. Adviser to Chief Minister on Tourism and Archaeology Asif Mehmood inaugurated the museum. He was received by Secretary Tourism and Archaeology Department (TAD) Ehsan Bhutta, Director General Archaeology Ilyas Gil, Deputy Commissioner Saif Jappa and DPO Gujrat Umer Salamat. He was briefed on artifacts in four galleries newly established by Archaeology Directorate in this historic building, erected in 1918. These galleries include prehistory and Indus valley civilisation, Gandhara Civilisation, Ethnological gallery and miscellaneous gallery with coins, weaponry, jewellery and other masterpieces. Deputy Director Archaeology Hassan Iqbal briefed on relevant history of heritage items displayed at the museum.

Ram Pyari Museum to open its doors to visitors Building is renovated by experts from Archaeology Directorate LAHORE: Ram Pyari Museum, Gujrat is all set to open its doors for the general public. Tourism and Archaeology Adviser to Chief Minister Asif Mehmood will chair the inaugural ceremony scheduled to be held today (Sunday). This masterpiece of the Victorian era has been renovated by the experts from Archaeology Directorate. As per the historical accounts, the Hindu contractor of Gujrat Sundar Das Chopra constructed this building in 1918 in his wife’s name Ram Pyari. The road where Ram Pyari Mahal is situated was also known as Ram Pyari road which is now called a circular road.
