Martyred soldier laid to rest in Waziristan

WANA: A havaldar of the Pakistan Army, who had embraced martyrdom in a firing incident, was laid to rest with state honours in Kaniguram area in South Waziristan tribal district on Sunday.
Havaldar Fathullah Kaikhel Mahsud had embraced martyrdom in a firing incident in Kaniguram area.
A large number of local people, civil and military officials attended his funeral prayer.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pak Army later presented a guard of honour and placed floral wreaths on the grave of martyred havaldar on behalf of Inspector General of Frontier Corps (South) Umar Bashir and WTF Kanigaram Brigade Brigadier Asif Maqsood. The martyred havaldar has left behind a widow, a 12-year old son and 10-year old daughter.
WANA: A passing-out parade of the cops was held here on Saturday.
The Pak Army had imparted three-month training to 124 policemen in South Waziristan to enable them to perform their duty in an efficient manner.
Brigadier Asif Maqsood of Pak Army Waziristan Task Force was the chief guest on the occasion.
District Police Officer South Waziristan Shaukat Ali also spoke on the occasion and thanked the Pak Army for imparting training to the cops.
Obaidullah Mahsud was given an award for showing best performance during the training. He received Rs100,000 cash prize.
Another four cops were also given Rs50,000 each for showing good performance in the training.
