Man, 70, nabbed over stabbing at Nakano Sun Plaza

At around 5:30 a.m. on December 10, Noboru Wada allegedly used a knife to slash the upper body of the male pedestrian, aged in his 20, on a street in front of Nakano Sun Plaza.
The victim received a 30-centimeter-long wound extending from his throat to his chest. The injury was expected to require one month to heal, police said previously.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, Wada declined to comment on the allegations.

Prior to the incident, the victim was walking to JR Nakano Station with two female acquaintances. The suspect then got into an argument with him.
Osaka teacher in custody for sexually abusing boy in Canada accused in 2 other cases

CHIBA (TR) – A 28-year-old teacher in custody over the alleged sexual abuse of a boy overseas has been accused in two other cases, police have revealed, reports TV Asahi (Dec. 23).
In November, Chiba Prefectural Police first arrested Yoshiyuki Nakagami, an English teacher in Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture, on suspicion of indecent assault.
The crime occured in 2017 while Nakagami was studying in Canada. On several occasions that October, he allegedly removed the pants of the 9-year-old boy and carried out acts deemed obscene.
Supermarket employee accused of attempting to rape woman in Koganei

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested an employee at a supermarket over the alleged attempted rape of a woman at her apartment in Koganei, reports TV Asahi (Dec. 18).
Early on Thursday, Kazuya Shimizu, 34. entered the first-floor residence of the woman, aged in her 20s, through an unlocked window on the balcony.
After finding the woman sleeping, he jumped atop her and thrust a knife at her neck. “Don’t make a sound,” he reportedly threatened. After allegedly fondling her body, he fled the scene.

‘Mr. Keio’ contestant not prosecuted for sexual assault for sixth time

In reporting on the arrest, some news outlets mentioned that prosecutors had dropped the first five cases. Well, as TV Asahi (Dec. 11) reports, that happened in the sixth also.
Early on March 24, 2019, Watanabe and Kazuki Koyama, both 24, were alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman, aged in her 20s, inside a karaoke parlor near JR Omiya Station in Saitama City.
Afterward, Koyama forced the woman into a nearby internet cafe where he was alleged to have sexually assaulted her again.
Upon their arrests on suspicion of coerced intercourse on November 20, the suspects declined to comment on the allegations, the Omiya Police Station said.
