Art is hitting Bridport streets in Lyric Theatre initiative | Bridport and Lyme Regis News

ART is being taken out into the streets in a Bridport theatre s latest initiative. Bridport’s Lyric Theatre has unveiled its latest community arts project, Right Up Your Street . The project will see art showcased on the Bridport streets while also collecting stories about how residents have found lockdown. Right Up Your Street is the latest in the series of the Lyric Theatre’s community projects, which they have been running since having to close their doors for indoor performances in March 2020. The project is possible thanks to funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund and will run from mid May to the end of June. The aim of the project is to find out how lockdown has been for us as a community and individually.

But life was anything but normal over the past year. Despite all COVID-19 precautions, business dwindled when the weather grew too cold to eat on the patio. Husband-and-wife owners Ben and Angie Porter decided the only way for the restaurant to survive in the long run was to take a break. We closed in mid-December because COVID  was keeping business away. Ben Porter says. We basically had to make a decision. We would have gone bankrupt if we d stayed open losing money.

Ascension Saint Vincent staff receive COVID-19 vaccine

The north side hospital began administering the vaccinations to frontline workers on Thursday. Author: Allen Carter Updated: 12:35 AM EST December 18, 2020 INDIANAPOLIS On Thursday, Ascension St. Vincent hospitals began the process of giving COVID-19 vaccinations to their frontline medical staffers.  Six workers were the first to receive shots, including nurses, a doctor and a respiratory therapist. “It feels hopeful, that finally we can start to heal a little bit from some of this,” said Rebecca Davidhizer, a nurse in the intensive care unit. Administrators said nearly 800 workers will be vaccinated in Indianapolis by Friday. Almost 5,000 doses were delivered to five sites throughout the Ascension system.
