Dad died when he fell into River Thames on fishing trip

Oxfordshire Coroner s Court A dad died on a fishing trip when he fell into the Thames, a coroner’s court heard. Dean Luckett, 33, fell into the river while on a fishing trip with his children on Saturday, July 3, near Wallingford. Oxford Coroner’s Court heard he was certified dead by an emergency helicopter doctor at 7.30pm. Opening the inquest into his death, senior coroner for Oxfordshire Darren Salter said: “The cause of death remains under investigation.” Mr Luckett lived in Dorchester-upon-Thames. Oxford Coroners Court A human rights activist died in a crash near Shipton-under-Wychwood, an inquest heard. Alaa Alsiddiq, 33, died when the BMW in which she was a passenger was involved in a crash with a Land Rover Freelander at the junction of the B4437 and the A361 on June 19. Opening the Londoner’s inquest on Wednesday afternoon, coroner Darren Salter gave her cause of death as multiple injuries. Oxford Coroner’s Court heard Ms Alsiddiq, who was born in Dubai, was the executive director of human rights’ charity ALQST. Her inquest was adjourned until December 16. In the wake of her death last month, Saudi Arabia rights group ALQST said she would be remembered for ‘her tireless devotion to her work; her passion for helping others and standing up for them; her powerful defence of human rights; and her efforts in support of worthy causes’.
