IndiGo to operate spl Trichy-Kuwait weekly service | Trichy News

Trichy:IndiGo Air will operate a weekly special flight to Trichy from Kuwait during March. This is seen as an effort to tap a potential market in the wake of Trichy airport handling 45 Vande Bharat flights bringing back 5,950 Tamils stranded in that country during the pandemic. Sources said the airline will operate the service under the Air Bubble agreement between the two countries and booking has begun. Flight (6E 8784) will depart at 12 pm from Kuwait on Tuesdays and reach Trichy at 7.25 pm. Air India Express is operating a weekly service to Kuwait on Thursdays under Vande Bharat Mission. IndiGo has been operating weekly two services to Dubai under the Air Bubble agreement and had brought back 499 passengers from there on three charter flights, officials added.

In an exclusive interview with The Peninsula, Ambassador of India to Qatar, H E Dr. Deepak Mittal, said Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) plans to open an office in India. He said despite pandemic, trade volume between the two countries recorded robust growth which is expected to reach about $11bn by the end of Indian financial year in March this year.

GMR Infra Q3 net loss widens to Rs 1,121 cr

On a consolidated basis, GMR Infrastructure reported net loss of Rs 1,120.51 crore in Q3 December 2020, higher than net loss of Rs 280.74 crore in Q3 December 2019. Net sales slumped 31.7% to Rs 1,359.10 crore in Q3 FY21 over Q3 FY20. Pre-tax loss stood at Rs 1,150 crore in Q3 December 2020 as against Rs 260 crore in Q3 December 2019. The Q3 result was declared after market hours yesterday, 12 February 2021. The Government of India had allowed 33% capacity for the airlines from 25 May 2020 till 25 June 2020 and has gradually raised the capacity to 80% on 4 December 2020. The effective partnership between airlines and our airports have ensured safety and re-instilled confidence in passengers to fly again. Measures adopted include contactless check in, regular aircraft sanitization and protective gear distribution to passengers.

Air-bubble arrangement between India and Russia to come into effect from February 12 Four categories of passengers can travel from Russia to India under this bubble: “Indian nationals or Nepalese nationals or Bhutanese nationals stranded in Russia; all overseas citizen of India (OCI) cardholders and person of Indian origin cardholders holding passports of any country; seamen from Russia; Russian nationals intending to visit India for any purpose (including the dependents holding appropriate visa), except tourism.” PTI February 11, 2021 / 08:20 PM IST India and Russia have concluded an air-bubble arrangement and it will come into effect from Friday, the Russian Embassy said. Under the pact between the two countries, special international passenger flights can be operated by their airlines into each other s territories under restrictive conditions.
