Norfolk charity Take Our Hand looking to expand post Covid

Wrexham charity in fundraising bid to improve facility

A charity which supports adults with learning disabilities, has welcomed people back into its gardens with an open day, the first event they have been able to hold in 18 months. Erlas Victorian Walled Gardens, on the outskirts of Wrexham, saw more than 300 people through their gates at the Sunday event, and their mission to get back on track with fundraising is in full swing. A second open day is hoped to take place on Sunday, June 13 Fundraiser Ann Morton said: Families, dog walkers, friends - old and new, enjoyed walking around the gardens, exploring the wildlife areas, and visiting Emma’s plant shop, where over £1,000 was made from selling annuals, perennials, vegetable plants and Emma’s rescued plants.

Feast With Us campaign to tackle north London food poverty

Volunteer chefs help Feast With Us produce lovely food for people in need - Credit: Feast With Us After rapidly expanding to meet unprecedented demand, food poverty charity Feast With Us is running a campaign so it can continue its programmes across north London and offer nutrition education to people in need. The charity started long before the Covid-19 pandemic, but founder Hannah Style, an NHS dietitian, told the Ham&High demand sky-rocketed during the crisis.  Feast With Us started by running community meals – first in the Conway House hostel in Kilburn before expanding to other locations in Camden – and now it works across Camden, Haringey and Islington.
