Students at Avon School in Stratford were found with cannabis on Thursday, prompting a report to police.
Police were called to a Taranaki primary school after students were found with drugs. Officers attended Avon School south of Stratford on Thursday following reports cannabis had been found in the possession of “several individuals”. The matter has been referred to Youth Aid, a police spokesman said. Principal Rik Allen said three students were involved in the incident, which he described as a “silly error”. “It is disappointing,” he said. Allen would not confirm the ages of the children involved or what disciplinary action had been taken.
