Almost five months after two San Diego retirees were found dead at the bottom of a well at their beach house in Mexico, a suspect has been charged with their murder.
The man, identified only as Emmanuel N., is part of the family that owns the ranch where Ian Hirschsohn, 78, had owned a vacation home for decades, his daughter told the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Hirschsohn and Kathy Harvey, 73, were stabbed to death in late August in their bed in Socorrito, about 130 miles south of Ensenada, according to prosecutors. Their families reported them missing on Sept. 2 and their bodies were found in the well on Sept. 5.

A man has been arrested by authorities in Baja California in the September stabbing deaths of a San Diego-area couple who frequently spent time in Mexico.
Authorities believe that Emmanuel “N” killed retirees Ian Hirschsohn and Kathy Harvey in Hirschsohn’s home in El Socorrito, Ensenada, probably in late August. Police believe the suspect, who his daughter says was known to Hirschsohn, stabbed them in their sleep while burglarizing the home then dumped their bodies in a well a few miles away.

A man has been arrested in connection with the murders of a Californian couple who were found dead at the bottom of a well in Mexico.
Ian Hirschsohn, 78, and Kathy Harvey, 73, were reported missing during a trip to Baja California, northern Mexico, in late August.
Their bodies were found days later at the bottom of a well south of the popular coastal town of Ensenada, according to the Baja California state prosecutor s office. The couple had been stabbed to death.
The suspect identified only as Emmanuel N, as is customary in Mexican cases was arrested on Tuesday, January 26. Investigators say they have enough evidence to charge him with the murders, according to news site Border Report.
