Essex Police are at the scene, in Stifford Road, this afternoon. A spokesman said: We are on the scene of a serious collision involving a car and a motorbike in Stifford Road, South Ockendon. The incident took place shortly before 1.40pm today, Saturday 10 April. A man has suffered serious injuries. There are a number of road closures in place in the area, including at the junction of Stifford Road and Foyle Drive. We are urging people to avoid the area while we carry out our investigations. Bus services have been rerouted due to the crash. Stifford Road and Folye Drive Following a serious road collision in South Ockendon, Essex Police have closed Stifford Road in both directions and Foyle Drive at the scene of the incident. Motorcyclist, 19, dies after crash in Stifford Road, South Ockendon

Detective Sergeant Steve Holmes, of Essex Police s serious collision incident unit, is leading the investigation and is appealing for information from the public. He said: I particularly want to hear from anyone who either saw or took footage of a group of motorbikes, one black, one red and one yellow, being ridden by young men in the Aveley and South Ockendon areas in the lead up to the incident this afternoon.” Stifford Road was closed for several hours whilst investigations took place at the scene. Bus services had to be rerouted due to the collision. Anyone with footage of the group of motorcyclists, or who saw the group during the day, should submit a report online at www.essex.police.uk or use the Live Chat button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.
