Sun-Times file photo Two gunmen shot and killed a man they were arguing with late Friday morning in Avalon Park on the South Side, Chicago police said. One of the men struck the 26-year-old victim in his face, causing him to fall down at 11:40 a.m. in the 8300 block of South Stony Island Avenue, police said. The men then opened fire and struck the man multiple times in his body. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and pronounced dead, police said. His name hasn’t been released. No arrest was made. Shootings have doubled over last year in the 4th police district, which stretches from South Shore to Hegewisch. The district has seen 69 shootings this year through May 2, up from 39 during the same period in 2020, according to police statistics.
