A sickly, a judge said he felt the Police Officer had been punished enough, but five years is the mandatory minimum for a handgun conviction. He was convicted of firstdegree assault, use of a handgun, as well as misconduct as a Police Officer. A very interesting thing about this case, this was the second sentencing here that happened. They tried to do this back in september and at that proceeding, Sergeant Riley jumped up, violently charged at the two prosecutors, one of whom is nine months pregnant at the time, started screaming profanities and try to get at him. Todays hearing began with a chewing out essentially by a judge who said, can you behave . If so, we will take you out of your shackles. The sergeant said he could do that. The judge sentenced him to an additional 30 days in prison for that outburst. The victim in this case was a man named ca
