MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Gov. Tim Walz on Friday announced that Minnesota will be winding down its mass COVID-19 vaccination sites as 70% of the state’s adult population has been vaccinated.
The community vaccination program sites will only offer final vaccine doses of the vaccine until Aug. 7, with the exception of the Mall of America site, which will continue to offer Pfizer shots for residents 12 and older. By Aug. 8, all sites except the one at MOA will close.
However, vaccines will still be available at smaller, state-run sites, as well as pharmacies and primary care providers.

(KNSI) – Minnesota is winding down its mass COVID-19 vaccination sites over the next month.
According to the Governor’s Office, Minnesota has reached the goal of getting 70% of Minnesota’s 18-and-older vaccinated.
As of July 11, Minnesota’s state-run Community Vaccination Program locations in St. Cloud, Duluth, Rochester, Mankato, St. Paul (Roy Wilkins), Lino Lakes, and Oakdale will only offer second doses of the vaccine.
Smaller community vaccination sites will still be used.
Minnesotans who have not received their vaccine can get theirs at one of 700 pharmacies, primary care providers, and smaller state-run sites where vaccines will be available across the state.

During a visit to a state vaccination site Thursday afternoon, Gov. Tim Walz announcing that walk-in availability will be expanded.
Starting Friday, May 14, Minnesotans age 12- through 17-years-old will be eligible to get vaccinated at the state sites that have Pfizer available.
During the visit, Walz also championed Minnesota’s vaccination efforts so far, saying more than 520,000 doses have been administered via State Community Vaccination efforts.

LINO LAKES, Minn. The network of community COVID-19 vaccination sites continues to expand across the Twin Cities and Minnesota, with the announcement of a new location in Lino Lakes.
Governor Tim Walz announced that the site, located in the old YMCA building, will begin taking appointments this week to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Lino Lakes joins Minneapolis, Duluth, Rochester, Bloomington, St. Paul, St. Cloud, Mankato and Oakdale as so-called permanent vaccination sites operated by the state.
