השקל מתחזק מול המטבעות המובילים - והדולר יורד לרמה הנמוכה ביותר מאז אמצע ינואר. הדולר יורד ב-0.1% ל-3.21 שקלים, היורו נחלש ב-0.4% ל-3.8 שקלים, והליש ט יורדת ב-0.1% ל-4.47 שקלים.
עד כה בנק ישראל השתמש ברכישות דולרים כדי למתן את ייסוף השקל, כשבינואר הכריז על תוכנית לרכישת 30 מיליארד דולר ב-2021 במטרה למנוע את ייסוף השקל. בפברואר הבהיר נגיד בנק ישראל, פרופ אמיר ירון, כי התוכנית אינה מוגבלת, והבנק יגדיל את הרכישות במקרה הצורך.
