September 12, 2020, around 8:00pm, residents of Alapere area of Lagos State, raised alarm as another flooding tragedy struck. Two yet-to-be-identified children were swept away as people battled flood after a heavy rainfall that lasted for hours and led to destruction of properties.
This is just one of the horrific, heart-wrenching experiences Nigerians go through, following havoc wreaked by floods every year. Yet nothing is done by stakeholders to ameliorate the disaster.

India bans supply of oxygen for industrial purposes as shortages continue amid Covid-19 surge

India banned the supply of oxygen for industrial purposes as oxygen shortages continue in many hospitals in the capital, New Delhi, amid a deadly second wave of Covid-19 in the country.
In an order issued by India’s Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday, it also said no restrictions are to be imposed on the movement of medical oxygen between states.

The UAE is considering taking stringent measures to restrict the movement of non-vaccinated people and not allowing them to enter certain places and avail of some services to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
Dr Saif Al Dhaheri, Official Spokesperson of the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA), said this during the media briefing on Tuesday.
The committee has approved “WithMyFamily” app for early intervention for children under 6 years of age. The home education guide was also launched for families to enable them to provide a set of education skills for children of determination.
The committee also launched the “Protect Your Health” programme for people of determination affected by quarantine that encourages them to practice physical exercise at home and have a nutritious diet.
