The Hastings Prince Edward Learning Foundation has declared their Now More Than Ever campaign a success.
They announced they have surpassed their goal to raise over $435,000 in support of their children’s programs. The Foundation thanks their partners and all those who donated, saying they have seen a boost in the number of donors as well. Bird’s Creek Principal Marion Wilson says that the impact will be felt by the families in Hastings County.
The Money will go to the Food For Learning program, Student Emergency Fund and Food for Home programs. The programs provide things like grocery gift cards for struggling families, money for eyewear, clothing, personal hygiene and other expenses.
At their AGM for the foundation, they announced more than $1.86 million for students.
The money raised goes to support the Good Backpack Program, Prom Project, Bring Your Own Device, Food For Learning, the Len and Olive Black Memorial Fund, Food For Home, and the Student Emergency Fund.
Foundation Executive Director Maribeth deSnoo says their programs have a direct impact on students.
Also at the AGM, they announced almost $723,000 specifically to the students of the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board.
