The group protested outside Barclays Bank in the high street and HSBC in Broad Street in the city centre. A spokesman for XR said the protest was held to raise awareness of the trillions of dollars still invested by banks in fossil fuels , and was in support of the launch of a global Money Rebellion campaign which saw actions take place across multiple continents worldwide yesterday.
