Adoke, Ex-AGF stranded in UAE

Former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, is stranded in the United Arab Emirate (UAE), where he tested positive for the COVID-19,Mr Kanu Agabi,SAN, told a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Agabi counsel to Adoke, told Justice Inyang Ekwo in the alleged money laundering trial filed against him and a businessman, Aliyu Abubakar, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adoke was granted the permission to travel abroad for medical check up on Dec. 11, 2020.

A former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, is stranded in the United Arab Emirates where he tested positive for the COVID – 19, his lawyer, Kanu Agabi (SAN), has claimed.
Agabi, lead counsel to Adoke in the alleged money laundering charges filed against him and a businessman, Aliyu Abubakar, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, conveyed his client s predicament to Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo of a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.

Kano, Jan. 6, 2020 Kano state Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje on Wednesday, commended the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for engaging 44,000 youths in the Extended Special Public Works (ESPW) programme in the state.
The governor, represented by his Deputy, Nasir Yusuf-Gawuna gave the commendation at the inauguration of the programme in Kano on Wednesday.
According to him, the federal government initiated the programme with a view to alleviate the sufferings of several Nigerians, adding that it will assist the beneficiaries to be engaged in three months programme at N20,000 monthly.
Ganduje also commended the federal government for providing N20,000 grants to over 8,000 women across the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.

Other courts during the year also adjourned the trial of several other corruption cases to next year.
The convicts who got out of jail and now face fresh trials include a serving senator, Uzor Kalu (APC-Abia), and a former spokesperson to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh.
