Nigeria boosts e-commerce, prepares for AfCFTA take-off

The Federal Government is prioritising the use of e-commerce to facilitate trade between Nigeria and other African countries in the African Continental Free Trade Agreement initiative.
The Director of Trade, Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment, Aliyu Abubakar, said this during a workshop organised by the National Action Committee on the AfCFTA Nigeria on Thursday.
He said the ministry was working with the Ministry of Communications and Digital economy to develop an e-commerce policy that would promote trade in the AfCFTA area.
According to him, the communications ministry had some capacity that would be required to ensure Nigerians participated in the e-commerce across the continent.
