The interview process was conducted by Donegal’s Coaching Games Development Manager, Aaron Kyles; Head of Academy Development, Karl Lacey; and Athletic Performance Consultant Micheál Cahill. Barrett was in charge of the Donegal Minors last season, but they endured a disrupted campaign, before losing by a point against Tyrone in the Ulster Minor Championship quarter-final in December. Due to Covid-19, the new group of minors only got to play one game in the Buncrana Cup (Ulster Under 16 level) last year. The GAA have yet to confirm when the Minor Championships will be held in 2021.
