Pittsburgh, PA Khaled Miah, a resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and former student at the University of Pittsburgh, has been charged by federal criminal complaint with one count of making interstate threatening communications, one count of influencing, impeding or retaliating against a federal law enforcement officer, and one count of destruction of records in a federal investigation. Miah was arrested on Wednesday and made an initial appearance in U.S. District Court via video teleconference. A preliminary and detention hearing is scheduled for tomorrow, January 8, 2021, at 10 a.m., before Chief Magistrate Judge Cynthia Eddy. According to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh, on or about December 27, 2020, Miah posted threats directed at individual FBI agents who were investigating him, as well as the FBI generally. Authorities are investigating a Friday night shooting that left a 26-year-old woman injured in a car parked along Grandview Avenue in North Versailles. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide unit found the woman when they responded to a reported shooting along the 400 block of Grandview Avenue at 11:24 p.m. She had been shot while sitting in her car.
