Update: UNDP’s focus and contribution to the Sudan Humanitarian Response Plan 2021 Format 03 February 2021, Khartoum: With 13.4 million people (over a quarter of the population) in Sudan projected to require assistance this year, UNDP is committed to addressing needs identified in the draft 2021 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP), providing lifesaving and life preserving interventions for the most vulnerable. Flash Update on the Response to Floods in North-West Syria - 3 February 2021 Format HIGHLIGHTS Almost 123,000 IDPs across 310 IDP sites in north-west Syria were reportedly affected by recent floods. Over 22,000 tents were either destroyed or damaged. The flooding has resulted in one death and three injuries. The UNHCR co-led Protection, CCCM, and Shelter/NFI Clusters are coordinating the response to the urgent needs of the affected population. As floods are a regular occurrence in this season, the Clusters had developed contingency plans that enabled them to effectively respond. The response is ongoing, and the Clusters continue to monitor the development of the crisis, adjusting their plans accordingly.

Flash Report | Fulatari Camp Monguno Fire Outbreaks - IOM DTM Rapid Assessment, 31 January 2021 Format At about 1:20 PM on 30th January 2021, a fire incident was reported at Fulatari IDP Camp affecting a total number of 396 individuals (91 households). It was reported that 71makeshift shelters were completely destroyed and 21makeshift shelters partially damaged in the incident. Properties belonging to the affected individuals were destroyed along with some livestock. Two children were also reported to have lost their lives and an adult male sustained injuries. A rapid assessment was conducted by DTM field staff to assess the damages caused by the fire and ascertain the total number of affected population.
