Update: UNDP’s focus and contribution to the Sudan Humanitarian Response Plan 2021 Format 03 February 2021, Khartoum: With 13.4 million people (over a quarter of the population) in Sudan projected to require assistance this year, UNDP is committed to addressing needs identified in the draft 2021 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP), providing lifesaving and life preserving interventions for the most vulnerable. The required budget of US$72.96 million for 4 prioritized sectors (Protection of Civilians, Food Security and Livelihoods, Emergency Shelter and Non-Food Items, and Refugee Response) will utilize UNDP’s global crisis response mandate and capabilities to promote inclusive and resilient communities through stabilization efforts. But, a funding gap of US$4.8m is limiting expansion to others in critical need.
