Councillor Farida Turner, who is a Conservative town and borough councillor in Borehamwood, has taken on the civic role for the second time in her political career. Cllr Turner previously served as town mayor in 2008 and she was sworn in for her latest term, at Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council s annual council meeting on May 4. Accepting the honour, Cllr Turner promised she will do the very best she can to serve the residents in the community.

Vehicle access into Allum Lane by Elstree & Borehamwood train station has been blocked since this morning due to roadworks. Water supplier Affinity Water has been at the scene today carrying out emergency repairs. A photo shows work being carried out on the edge of a mini-roundabout, with no access in or out of Allum Lane between the roundabout and the Asda petrol station. It means buses have been on diversion and drivers have had to find alternative routes to get between Borehamwood and Elstree.
