Bedford County Airport will receive $187,500 to replace the floor in its first unit hangar, Gov. Tom Wolf and state Sen. Wayne Langerholc Jr. announced in separate news releases. The hanger was built in 1991, and the floor is cracking to the point that jets are no longer housed on that side of the structure. The money was part of $12 million in PennDOT grants. Also receiving funding were the Altoona-Blair County Airport, $100,000 for continued construction of a corporate hangar, and John Murtha Johnstown â Cambria County Airport

South Middleton Township, in Cumberland County, is slated to receive $3 million to acquire Carlisle Airport. The acquisition of the privately-owned airport will “help to preserve the future” of the facility “within the jurisdiction as a public-use general aviation airport,” Wolf’s office said.
