Thomas Maxwell “Tom” Foose Jr., 83, of Altoona, died early Friday afternoon, May 7, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Altoona in 1938, son of the late Thomas Maxwell Foose and Mary Sue (Hopper) Foose Detrich. He wed Sheryll A. Fleck in 1964, and enjoyed 57 years of marriage.
Surviving are his wife, Sheryll; three children: daughter, Rebecca A. Fuhrman, and her husband, Michael, and their children, Austin and Zachary; son, Thomas M. Foose III, and his wife, Erin, and their son, Thomas M. Foose IV; and son, Andrew S. Foose, and his wife, Erin, and their children, Ella and Ian.

Darlene Joy (Diffenderfer) Merritts, 84, of Juniata, Altoona, passed away peacefully at Maybrook Rehabilitation Center in Altoona on Thursday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Clarence and Gladys (Robinson) Diffenderfer. She married John Milton Merritts on Sept. 27,
1958. He preceded her in death in 2016, after a beautiful 57-year marriage.
She is survived by her four children: Timothy (Sharon), Lisa (Jim Hite), Lori (Dominic Dugo), and Lynne Daniels; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a 1955 graduate of Altoona High School.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home Inc., 719 N. Fourth Avenue, Juniata. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.

Susan Joy Weyandt, 75, of Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Paul W. and Genevieve R. (Mackey) Swanger.
Susan married Carl J. Weyandt Sr. on Feb. 17, 1966, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 2007.
Surviving are two sons, Mark A. Weyandt and his wife, Barbara, of Lancaster and Carl J. Weyandt Jr. and his wife, Anitra, of Altoona; four grandchildren: Casidy, Marissa, Carson and Kierstan Weyandt. Also surviving is her brother, Gary Swanger, of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her brother, Gregg Swanger.

Larry W. Longenecker, 72, of Herndon, Va., passed away in his home after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, the son of Thelma J. (Showalter) and the late Harry G.
Longenecker.
Surviving are his wife; his mother, of Altoona; and his sister, Cheryl
Naughton, and her husband, Paul, of Vienna, Va.
Mr. Longenecker was a graduate of Altoona High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University. He worked for several years as a computer programmer before becoming a Realtor/broker.
Over the years, he enjoyed various hobbies and working on family genealogy. He and his wife, Maxine, also enjoyed fishing and attending horse races.
George Ellsworth “Mackey” Garner, 94, passed away Saturday, April 17, at his home in Martinsburg. Born in Altoona on July 8, 1926, he was the son of the lat
