According to video obtained by TMZ, rapper and Louisville native Jack Harlow can be seen inside, just feet from the scuffle that eventually became deadly.
Kasmira Nash, 37, died of a gunshot wound at Vibes Restaurant and Ultra Lounge, the Jefferson County Coroner s Office said.
A man also was shot and injured in the incident at the club, 1346 River Road, Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley has said. Officers responded to the scene just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Nash was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Smiley said.
Vibes Restaurant and Ultra Lounge was hosting a 2021 Derby Weekend Kickoff party Friday night, according to its Facebook page, with DJ Drama a featured guest. Authorities say the club was well attended at the time of the incident however there were no other injuries, Smiley said. The Homicide Unit is handling the investigation and believe both shootings took place inside the venue.”
One woman was killed in the shooting, another person was injured. Harlow was not hurt.
Harlow had been at Churchill Downs on Oaks Day. He was scheduled to give the Riders up! command at the Kentucky Derby, but was replaced at the last minute by Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas.
