LINCOLN Alcona Community Schools officials notified parents Thursday three new staff members who work primarily at the middle and high schools were infected with COVID-19 and one new infection was reported for Alcona High School.
Superintendent Dan O’Connor said in a letter to parents Thursday the district is working with District Health Department No. 2 and the district will notify students and staff who need to quarantine.
O’Connor also encouraged parents to continue to monitor their child or children for the onset of COVID-19 symptoms.
HARRISVILLE The Alcona County Library has made a couple of changes to its events this month.
On Monday, April 12, pick up your Teen DIY Kit (ages 12 to18) at the Alcona County Library in Harrisville. April’s kit is Blackout Poetry. Students may pick up their kits at the main office of Alcona High School.

Monday, April 19 is Craftomania! at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library, with two sessions, 10:30 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 2:30 p.m. The project for April is Oil Pastel Cards. Seating is limited and this event is for adults only.
