As per CNN, TikTok users reported the video to police when they realised she matched the approximate age and appearance of Sofia.

She wasn’t recovered and her whereabouts are unknown, but local police never gave up on finding Sofia. Their most recent effort, a website dedicated to finding Sofia, received strong support from the community. Since creating the website, the KPD has received over 75 tips from community members including one crucial piece of information that may be the catalyst in finding Juarez. Someone described as a “highly credible witness” allegedly observed a female matching Sofia’s description walking on the sidewalk at S. Washington St. near E. 15th Ave on the day of her disappearance in 2003.
