Born in Norwalk on August 30th, 1999, she was raised and lived in New Canaan. A graduate of New Canaan High School, she went on to Duchess County Community College to purse a degree in Early Childhood Education, before returning back to her hometown to start her career.
As a child, Angela enjoyed time with family and neighborhood friends. There was always a smile on her face with laughter to fill a room. Angela had a natural talent for painting and drawing, which consumed much of her free time as well. She had a vibrant personality that made her very well loved by all.

[UPDATED Sept. 4, 1:20 p.m.] A funeral Mass for Katherine Schlegel has been scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church on Cherry Street.
[UPDATED Sept. 4, 11 a.m.] Katherine Mary Schlegel, 20, the daughter of New Canaan residents, a member of St. Aloysius Church and a 2016 New Canaan High School graduate, died Monday, Sept. 3.
The report of the death was confirmed Sept. 4 by the family through St. Aloysius Pastor Rev. Rob Kinnally, who said this is a “tragedy.”
The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told the Advertiser at 10:50 a.m. Sept. 4 that they are investigating the fatality, and the “cause / manner of death are pending determination at this time.”

Services are set for Sangamon County Republican Party chair Rosemarie Long, who passed away last week.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7pm at Staab Funeral Home in Springfield, with a funeral Mass Wednesday morning at 11:30 at St. Aloysius Church. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. CDC protocol will be observed at all services. Long was a former Sangamon County Board member who served 17 years as the local GOP chair.
She was 79.
