BJP blames Cong leader for ‘misbehaving’ with women’s wing chief C.P. Singh takes on Alok Dubey, who says the party resorting to issue-less politics
Ranchi MLA C.P. Singh accused Congress leaders of disrespecting women and treating them like “bonded labourers” on Saturday, referring to the alleged misbehavior of a Congress spokesperson with BJP leader Arti Kujur recently.
Addressing the media at state BJP state headquarters in Ranchi, Singh, a former minister, said the Congress party should apologise to Kujur, the president of the state BJP women’s wing, for the alleged misbehavior of their leader Alok Dubey during a demonstration outside Congress Bhawan here.
Ranchi: Finance minister Rameshwar Oraon became the first cabinet member of the Hemant Soren government to take the Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday. Seventy-four-year-old Oraon, who is also the state Congress president, took his first dose of Covishield vaccine at a city-based private nursing home at Bariatu in the morning.
After taking the shot in the second phase which started on March 1 and meant for 60-year-old people and above along with those who are 45 and above with co-morbidities, the minister appealed to others in the age-groups to take the vaccine without any hesitancy.
He said, “The vaccine is completely safe. I didn’t feel any problem and I appeal to all who are registered as beneficiaries to take the vaccine in the interest of their health and overall well-being of the country.”

Two men were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly posing as police personnel and extorting money from auto drivers in Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad, police said.
Circle Officer (Border) MS Alok Dubey told news agency Press Trust of India that the accused were identified as Dinesh, 27, a native of Moradabad district, and Sandeep, 33, of Sardhana town in Meerut district. The two were living in Kanawani village of Indirapuram in Ghaziabad district.
Ranchi: JMM and Congress, the two major constituents of the Mahagatbandhan government, hailed the Budget for FY 2021-22 tabled by finance minister Rameshwar Oraon on Wednesday.
“The Budget addresses the basic needs of Rozi, Roti, Kapda and Makaan (income, food security, clothes and home),” JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said.
Heaping praises on the incumbent government for its announcement to open a community kitchen named after party chief Shibu Soren, who is fondly addressed as Guruji by his followers. “The Guruji Kitchen will realise the party’s dream that no one goes hungry in the state. We are so exhilarated that we are calling it ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’,” Bhattacharya said.

RANCHI: Ahead of its second budget during the Covid-19 pandemic, the grand alliance government in the state said the common people will not be burdened unlike the Union Budget.
Talking to TOI, state finance minister and Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Rameshwar Oraon said he will table a pro-people budget on March 3.
Dubbing the Union Budget as pro-capitalist, Oraon said, “As a finance minister, I am not supposed to speak about the budget in detail before it is tabled in the assembly, but I can assure the people of this state that unlike the Union Budget, the state’s budgetary provisions will be in the larger interest of the population. Since our state and its people are already battling with financial and other woes, the government will aim to provide relief to every section of society.”
