Employees of Allianz Life Insurance, also known as Allianz Angels, have embarked on a social outreach programme as part of the company’s 3rd-anniversary celebrations.
The Allianz Angels initiative, funded solely from employees’ contributions, on Thursday, May 27, settled the medical bills of five children at the Tema General Hospital.
The beneficiaries had been on admission at the Surgical and Medical wards of the hospital. Allianz Angels further made a donation of an undisclosed amount to a fund created by the hospital to help needy patients meet their medical expenses.
Prior to the hospital donations, Allianz Angels had embarked on a similar charitable outreach programme when Accra-based media house TV3 made an appeal to solicit help for a set of teenage twins that had developed mobility problems shortly after a wrongful injection was administered to them as toddlers.
