When Homeworld 3 launched a token crowdfunding campaign in 2019, it was through a site which not only lets people throw in cash, it lets some actually invest in the game and get paid if it does well. Well, that s off. While development continues, the investment aspect has been binned, presumably as a consequence of Homeworld owners Gearbox being bought by the ever-growing Embracer Group. But Homeworld 3 is still on. So that s fine.
One would-be investor shared the e-mail they received from Fig on Reddit. The message notes that there have been recent changes at Gearbox and because of that, Fig has cancelled investment reservations. No one actually paid to invest, it was all still pending. The e-mail is also clear that the game and backer rewards are still coming to people who paid for em, they re just scrapping the whole investment thing.

Consistency. That s the word that comes to mind.
It s one to use carefully when talking about a sequel. I m prone to criticising games, particularly long-running series, for iterating gradually rather than taking bigger chances. I ve bemoaned Tropico s rehashes. I ve whinged about everyone copy-pasting XCOM to a fault. I ve sent guys to show GTA a picture of Saints Row before throwing it through a window.
But here s Creeper World 4, quietly releasing at the end of 2020 in an already busy month. I can t say anything about it is revolutionary, or even drastically different to the rest of the series. And yet I become utterly engrossed every time I play it. Again.
VICTORIA The Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL) has released several top 10 lists for the most popular books that were borrowed from the library system this year. The top 10 lists cover four categories: adult fiction, adult non-fiction, children’s and teens books. While the GVPL closed its branches near the beginning of the pandemic, many have reopened. During this time, the library system says that circulation of its digital items skyrocketed by more than 92 per cent during the first wave of COVID-19 as people remained at home. The GVPL says that digital consumption of books led to renewed popularity for some titles because they were easily accessible online.
