Below is an analysis of the prospects in the farm system of the Detroit Tigers. Scouting reports were compiled with information provided by industry sources as well as our own observations. As there was no minor league season in 2020, there are some instances where no new information was gleaned about a player. Players whose write-ups have not been meaningfully altered begin by telling you so. Each blurb ends with an indication of where the player played in 2020, which in turn likely informed the changes to their report if there were any. As always, we’ve leaned more heavily on sources from outside of a given org than those within for reasons of objectivity. Because outside scouts were not allowed at the alternate sites, we’ve primarily focused on data from there, and the context of that data, in our opinion, reduces how meaningful it is. There are few things on this earth I enjoy more than a good play on words. For me, the almighty pun reigns supreme in terms of the best type of wordplay, but high on the list is the anagram.
For those unfamiliar (and you’ll figure it out pretty quickly down below), an anagram uses the letters in a word or name in order to create a new word or phrase. In this post, the idea for which we aren’t too proud to admit we stole from Twinkie Town, we’re going to see what kind of anagrams we get from the names on the Tigers’ 40-man roster and if any of them perhaps bode well for the season ahead.

LAKELAND, Fla. The can-opening incident was a light-hearted introduction to Spring Training for Spencer Torkelson. It was never expected to be the most healthy cut he took in camp.
This is not the way Torkelson envisioned his first camp unfolding. This is also not the way the Tigers want their top prospect to head into his first Minor League stop, which is part of the reason they’re going to keep him around a little longer after the team made its first round of roster moves Friday morning.
Torkelson is slated to play at some point in every Grapefruit League game until Thursday’s off-day, manager A.J. Hinch said.
