Rothes firm Forsyths opens Irish division as it works on new distillery backed by rock star Bono

Moray copper still maker and fabrication firm Forsyths has opened a division in Ireland to meet “buoyant” demand from the distilling industry there.
The Rothes-based group is involved in a number of projects in the country, including the construction of a new distillery in which U2 rock star Bono is a shareholder.
Richard Forsyth, managing director of the family-run business, said it had launched a facility north of Dublin, where a coppersmith and pipefitters are based.
Mr Forsyth added: “Business has been very buoyant for us in Ireland.

Propped up by his walking stick, Alexander Forsyth faced the Nambour Magistrates Court on Monday. He pleaded guilty to unlawful entry of a vehicle to committing an indictable offence. The 68-year-old retiree had stolen cash from an unlocked car parked near a construction site where the victim was working in Nambour on December 22. Forsyth had opened the car from the driver s side, found the victim s wallet with the cash inside and pocketed it before driving off in his own car.
