An ice cream truck fell down an embankment near the George Washington Bridge in New Jersey on Thursday (May 13) afternoon. The truck plummeted 20 feet and landed on its side in a wooded ravine.
Bystanders who saw the truck crash rushed over to help.
Chris Fuschini climbed down the embankment and saw the 22-year-old driver was trapped inside the truck. He broke the window and helped pull the driver to safety while another bystander called 911.
The driver told first responders he was suffering from neck and back pain and was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
Ice cream truck rolls down cliff near George Washington Bridge
FORT LEE An ice cream truck rolled 20 feet down a cliff near the George Washington Bridge Thursday afternoon, according to the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police.
The driver of the truck owned by Lexylicious Ice Cream lost control of the truck, which ended up on its left side after it went through a group of trees, according to police.
Franco Maicas, 22, from Toms River, was hospitalized with head and neck pain.
Three passersby ran down the embankment to help free the driver, according to police, who said Maicas was out of his truck by the time first responders arrived.
