The Kane County Sheriff s Office in St. Charles recently announced the hiring of its first social worker to serve the community under the sheriff s new Special Victims Team.
Social worker Nicole Krupp accepted the position on Nov. 16 and began taking a caseload of victims affected by some of the most impactful types of crimes.
11-Year-Old Named as Suspect in Montrose County Death

A juvenile has been charged and arrested in the death of a 62-year-old Montrose, Colo. woman.
The Montrose County Sheriff s Department released a statement Monday evening regarding the death of the 62-year-old woman on December 19 in the area of Shavano Valley Road. Karmen Keefauver was found with a gunshot wound who later died at the hospital from the injuries.
The Montrose County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division and Colorado Bureau of Investigations determined an 11-year-old was involved in the shooting. The juvenile was arrested and charged with 2nd-degree murder and is currently being housed at the Grand Mesa Youth Services.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Detectives are Investigating an Armed Robbery in Amelia

Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that the detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigations Section are conducting an investigation into an armed robbery incident.
On Saturday, December 19, 2020, at approximately 6:40 pm, a deputy responded to a business in Amelia in reference to an armed robbery.
The suspect entered the business and produced a small semi-automatic handgun. No one was injured in the incident, but the suspect left the business with merchandise and cash totaling over $5,000. The suspect was wearing a black jacket, black pants, a disposable face mask and a backpack with gray and blue accent colors.

VILLE PLATTE, La. - The Evangeline Parish Sheriff s Office is asking for help from the public in locating a missing person.
On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, Danny Shouse, 45, was reported missing by his mother.
He was last seen on Monday, December 14 at 11:00 a.m. at his girlfriend s residence in the 400 block of Clover Lane in Ville Platte.
Shouse is 5 8 , weighs about 185 pounds, grey hair, brown eyes and a fair skin tone. He was driving a 2014 white Nissan Maxima bearing Louisiana License Plate #717DOH with dark tinted windows. He was last seen wearing jeans and a leather jacket.
