Alligator captured on bridge hours after cow wrangled on Houston-area freeway By Ronnie Marley (Source: Harris County Constable s Office, Pct. 8) Wednesday turned out to be Wild Kingdom in the Houston area after both a cow and a gator were caught on busy roadways. According to Chief Deputy Jason Finnen with Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 8, they received a call just after 10:30 a.m. about an alligator on the Fred Hartman Bridge.  (Source: Harris County Constable s Office, Pct. 8) Finnen said a game warden with Texas Parks and Wildlife was able to capture the alligator and safely relocate him to a nearby body of water about a hour and a half later.

Apr 29, 2021 During the Wednesday commute, a loose cow caused delays on I-10 at the East Beltway. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Livestock Unit responded, Harris County Sheriff says when they arrived a pedestrian was “trying to rope the cow.” A law enforcement vehicle showed up at the scene and shooed the cow up a ramp from I-10 to Beltway 8. By 8:30 a.m., the cow was laying on the ground near the San Jacinto Funeral Home and Memorial Park just off the East Freeway. Deputies stood watch over the animal before a cattle trailer arrived at the scene. After giving it time to relax, the cow was loaded into the trailer and driven away.
