• 7 hours ago Santa Fe, NM - On June 23, 2021, the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was requested to investigate an officer involved shooting in Santa Fe involving the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office (SFCSO).
Investigators learned that on June 23, 2021, SFCSO dayshift deputies encountered a stolen black Ford Ranger truck. The truck attempted to strike a SFCSO patrol unit, and a pursuit ensued. That pursuit was ultimately terminated. SFCSO dayshift deputies issued a be on the lookout (BOLO) for the stolen black Ford Ranger to SFCSO evening and graveyard shifts.
Later that same evening, at around 11:00 p.m. a SFCSO deputy encountered a black Ford Ranger and identified it as the stolen black Ford Ranger on the BOLO that had led deputies on a pursuit earlier in the day. Man Dies In Officer Involved Shooting In Santa Fe Today

SANTA FE – The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was contacted to investigate a police shooting involving the Santa Fe Police Department (SFPD).
Investigators learned that at approximately 10:07 a.m. today, SFPD responded to a fight and shooting incident at DeVargas Park (302 West DeVargas St.) in Santa Fe.
SFPD officers searched the area and located a male suspect who was armed with a handgun. A foot pursuit ensued, which led down Old Santa Fe Trail and Alameda Street.
The male suspect ran north on Old Santa Fe Trail and into a crowded tourist area. At that point, the male suspect turned toward the SFPD officers and pointed the handgun at them. A SFPD officer discharged his department issued firearm toward the male suspect at least once, striking him.
