In an interview with the Italian editorial team of the Pressenza Agency, the former President of Tunisia and current President of the Human Rights Association of that country, Moncef Marzouki, was asked to comment on the case of Julian Assange, in view of the court’s decision which will be announced on January 4, 2021.
Recalling that he had invited Assange to his country when he was President, Marzouki described him as “a man who had done his duty, his duty as a citizen and human rights activist”. He added, “I took a clear position from the beginning when I was President of Tunisia and up to today, that the case of Assange is a clear violation of human rights”.
