A schoolboy with autism died after being stabbed in the chest at a Reading park before passers-by tried to save him, an inquest has heard.
Olly Stephens, 13, died at Bugs Bottom Fields, just 250 yards from his home in Emmer Green on January 3.
A 13-year-old girl, along with two boys, aged 13 and 14, have been charged with his murder.
An inquest into Olly s death opened today, just days after hundreds lined the streets of Reading for his funeral.
It heard how the Highdown School pupil was found by a passing member of the public, who attempted to resuscitate him before ambulance crews arrived and took over.
An autistic schoolboy killed on the first weekend of the year died from stab wounds to the chest, an inquest heard.
Olly Stephens, 13, was attacked in a park at Bugs Bottom fields, Emmer Green, in Reading, on the afternoon of Sunday January 3.
His inquest was formally opened by assistant coroner Alison McCormick at Reading Coroner’s Court on Monday morning, during which his cause of death was confirmed.

Ms McCormick said a member of the public tried to resuscitate Olly before handing over to the emergency services, but he died at the scene.
